Dr. Rina Inaba 研修医を終えて

 私はBronxにある St. Barnabas Hospitalでの一般歯科研修医を終えました。

その研修は歯科でのキャリアの上で大きな変化で、様々な症状の患者の方々を診察し、 多くの新しい技術を学び、個人歯科での仕事にもとても有意義なものになりました。

医学的に複雑な問題を持つ患者さんたちの治療が、私の研修期間の中心でした。

その病院に通院する患者さんは、歯の健康と重なる全身疾患を抱えており、総合的な治療計画を立て、全身疾患を深く理解する必要がありました。

この学習プロセスで重要だったのは、歯科の様々な分野の専門家と共に働くことでした。この学術的なアプローチにより、私は各専門分野に対する洞察を深め、それらがどのように統合されて包括的な患者ケアを提供しているのかを理解することができました。このような協力関係から得た知識と技術により、より幅広い歯科疾患に対応できるようになります。

研修医時代に経験した最もユニークなことの1つは、特別なニーズを持つ患者さんのケアを手術室で行えたことです。一般的な歯科治療には困難が伴うような患者さんに必要な治療を提供できたことは、とても喜ばしいことでした。この経験で、患者さん中心のケアの重要性を学びました。

患者さんにとって心地よく、快適な環境を作ることは、私が今後、Inaba Dental Officeで大切にしていくことになるでしょう。

歯科研修医として、私は病院の救急部での呼び出しも担当していました。救急の業務により、歯科の緊急事態の準備と管理ができ、さまざまな外傷での状況を迅速に判断し、対処しました。予期せぬ緊急事態を管理するこの能力は、開業医として欠かせないものとなるはずです。

 

研修医時代のひとつひとつの経験が、私の患者さんへの治療のアプローチの方法を形造り、臨床能力を広げる上で重要なものになりました。Inaba Dental Officeでは、St. Barnabas Hospital での貴重な経験やスキルを生かし、患者さん一人一人に合った質の高い歯科医療を提供できるよう、日々努力していきます。

I recently completed my general practice residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY. It has been a transformative stage in my dental career. I saw a wide range of patients and learned many new skills, all of which will be useful in private practice. 

The treatment of medically complex patients was a central part of my residency. With each patient presenting a unique set of systemic conditions that overlapped with their dental health, it called for comprehensive treatment planning and in-depth understanding of systemic diseases. 
Crucial to this learning process was working alongside specialists from various fields of dentistry. This multidisciplinary approach allowed me to gain insights into each specialty and understand how they integrate to provide comprehensive patient care. The knowledge and skills acquired from these collaborations will enable me to manage a wider range of dental conditions. 

One of the most unique experiences I had at my residency was being able to provide care for special needs patients in the operatory room. It was gratifying to be able to provide the necessary care for patients that may propose some challenges in the typical dental setting. This experience underscored the importance of patient-centered care. Creating an environment of ease and comfort for patients is a practice I aim to maintain in private clinic. 

As a dental resident, I was on call at the emergency department of the hospital. On-call duties have prepared me for managing dental emergencies, allowing me to quickly assess and address various trauma scenarios. This competence in managing unexpected emergencies will be indispensable in private practice.

Each experience from my residency has been pivotal in shaping my approach to patient care and expanding my clinical abilities. As I venture into Inaba Dental Office, I carry with me the invaluable insights and skills acquired at St. Barnabas Hospital, prepared to deliver high-quality, individualized dental care.
